We keep hearing the word “staycation” banded around by the media but when you look at what it means and what it stands for, we couldn’t agree more.
Why go abroad when right on our very own doorsteps we have so much of our own wonderful country to explore. And this sentiment was also recently echoed by BBC Radio 4 presenter Nick Robinson who in a recent interview wondered aloud:
“Why on earth I’ve spent all this money going abroad next week”
But Nick is not alone, he is one of just 2.5 million holiday makers who have the same idea and are jetting off to foreign climates the first weekend of the school holidays and with the weather we are currently experiencing in Cornwall we know that Nick will not be the only one questioning why he is flying abroad and leaving this fantastic weather behind.
Those crystal clear mediterranean blue seas – we get them too, those scorching hot days where the sand is almost too hot to walk on – we get them too, those arrive 2 hours early, flight delayed, luggage delayed – we don’t get them!
The whole purpose of a holiday is to relax and unwind and as we hear time after time sadly when venturing overseas sadly this is not the case and you may actually need a holiday to get over getting back.
Cornwall is such wonderful county to explore with breathtaking scenery and world renowned attractions such as The Eden Project (just 22 miles from our holiday flat), the Tate St Ives (just 45 miles down stunning coast roads) and numerous historical monuments, homes and gardens to discover.
It truly is no wonder that people return time after time to Cornwall – it is the perfect escape.
Our self catering flat for two people just 200 yards from the sandy beach at Trevone is available throughout the year for visitors. Whether you choose to stay local and enjoy everything that Trevone has to offer or explore further afoot you are assured of a warm welcome. We do still have availability so even if it is a last minute decision, it is always worth checking to see what we have available as we can be more flexible (and cheaper) than agency bookings.
