About Trevone and the surrounding area
Trevone is a small village set on the North Cornwall coast just 3 miles from the fishing port of Padstow. Trevone is renowned for its beaches and uniquely has both a sandy and a rocky beach. The beach is patrolled by RNLI Lifeguards during the summer months and is regularly awarded Blue Flag status for its water cleanliness.
The picturesque blue flag Trevone beach with its golden sands. In the distance can be seen one of the region’s most famous landmarks – the roundhole, a collapsed sea cave which provides a dramatic feature on the landscape.
Trevone is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and sits within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Along with its award winning water quality, Trevone is well known for its “Roundhole” a sea cave which at some point has collapsed leaving a giant hole on the landscape.
Stunning cliff top walks along the North Cornwall Coastal Footpath can be enjoyed heading to the mouth of the Camel Estuary in one direction and Harlyn in the other.
The village has a small store offering very basic supplies and newspapers and during the summer months the Trevone Beach Cafe offers a wide range of foods to suit every taste and budget. Further up the village there is a farm shop offering fresh vegetables, meats, confectionary, wine and local produce. The Well Parc is a small hotel in the village which is open to non-residents as a bar and also offers food and during the summer months also holds a number of barbecues and events raising money for local charities.
Whether you are looking to enjoy the spectacular scenery and wildlife the area has to offer, head inland to the rugged landscapes offered by Bodmin Moor or even enjoy a little retail therapy in some of the small towns and markets in the area, Trevone provides an excellent base from which to explore – though we are sure you will spend the majority of your time here!
We look forward to welcoming you to Trevone.
